Forward With Camp Perry is a volunteer-run community website for everyone who loves Camp Charles F. Perry — Scouts and families, unit leaders, alumni, donors and neighbors across the Rio Grande Valley.
We preserve the story and materials of the original “¡Adelante Con Camp Perry!” campaign website, publish practical guides for camp preparation and safety, and help people find the official resources they need. We are not the council and we do not run camp — for registrations, reservations, fees and donations, always use the Rio Grande Council.

The Rio Grande Council
Camp Perry is owned and operated by the Rio Grande Council of Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America).
The Rio Grande Council was founded in 1926. A group of volunteers traveled to Dallas to receive the charter that year, and in November 1926 they held the first meeting in La Feria, Texas, to select the council’s first Scout Executive.
The council covers five counties in South Texas — Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy and Zapata. Four of these counties border Mexico, and according to 2017 campaign materials, about 91% of the council’s available youth population is Hispanic.
The council owns and operates Camp Perry, founded in 1927 and known as the oldest continuous Boy Scout camp in Texas. Campaign-era materials also noted a leased camp on South Padre Island named Laguna Station.
